Khalida's pictures (non-Golden Knight)

Stuff I do while on the ground....mostly

What do I do when I am not skydiving for work?

Why, skydiving for fun, of course!!

OK I swear this is the only skydiving picture I will put on this page...for now....

This is me doing 4-way formation skydiving during the summer of '06. I am the one in the blue on the right. The reason the picture looks crooked is because we just left the airplane. This means that we are still traveling forward (across the ground) at the same speed as the airplane, but gravity has not had much time to accelerate us so we are not travelling downward much yet. The transition from forward speed to downward speed is known as the "hill".

NASCAR!!!

A NASCAR race 2007...don't remember if it was Charlotte or Texas Motor Speedway.

Ice climbing in Steamboat Springs, Feb  '05.

H. Dubya and me

You may or may not know that the members of the Bush family are huge Houston Astros fans. George H.W. Bush is also a huge fan of the Golden Knights, and has done two skydives with us as his instructors. So when he heard we were jumping into the Astros game, he invited us to take a private tour of his Houston office, with himself as the guide. So I got to hear a lot of personal reflections and stories.

Mush!!

Steamboat Springs, CO, Feb 2005: My friend Jessica and I learn the art of dog-sledding.  Because that is an important skill to know.

And of course you all know Eric....

Eric has been my best friend since...holy cow...1996!!

Yes, we still keep in touch, as much as we can with our busy lives.  Right now he is living in Los Alamos again.

This is a picture of his lovely backside as he gazes into his favorite element: snow.

(Yes, snow is an element, The Element, if you ask Eric!)

Most Recent Photo of Me:

I didn't have time to update this whole page, but this is (I think) the most recent photo I have of myself where you can actually see me and not just a jumpsuit with a parachute attached! This was taken February 15th, 2008, at Grand Canyon West. That is close to the end of the Grand Canyon so that is why it doesn't look so grand. This is one mesa away from the famed Skywalk, which I visited that day. That was a hell of a weekend. I drove over 1600 miles, covering almost the entire length of the Grand Canyon plus Antelope Canyon in Page, AZ. I didn't get to hike far into the canyon because of the ice, so someday I want to go back and hike all the way to the bottom and back up the other side.

George H.W. Bush has a huge screen in his office that he plays video games on. So we played some hunting games with the former president. One game has been customized with a big picture of him with a gun on the front and is called "Bush Presidential Quail Hunt". The rest of the game is normal stock, though.
